Laminate furniture makeover with chalk paint
Hi guys. So this dresser was just too sad before but we couldn't just throw it away. So we decided to do a make over with chalk paint that we made ourselves!
This is before...
First we cleared everything off, removed all the old hardware, pulled out all the drawers and sanded it down.
We didn't prime it but we think this is a very important step to secure the chalk paint and avoid scratches. Then we mixed the paint we chose, with some unsanded grout to make the chalk paint look. You can find many recipies on line.
Sanded it again, applied the second coat of paint and in the end we gave it a coat of wax.
We used the old hardware just spraying them over with a paint coat.
And voila!
We enjoyed this project so much since it was our first furniture rehab with chalk paint look.
Can't wait for the next one!
